Holidays in Paris
Paris has been an International center of interest for centuries. It has been a focal point for wars and sieges of multiple civilizations. Many famous battles and successions of kingdoms were fought on the streets of Paris. Paris also boasts one of the largest populations in Europe with close to 12 million people living in the metro-area. Paris has been very influential in international business networking and other international affairs in general over the years. Thirty-three Fortune 500 companies have made Paris their home along with several other large International organizations. Paris is also a largely sought after tourist destination for vacation holidays. The weather in Paris is also quite fair year round for a beautiful holiday visit. Paris lies in the northern part of France along the river Seine. The river Seine, has its northern curve that flows right through Paris and provides two islands; Isle Saint-Louis and the larger Isle de la Cites, which adds to the attraction of Paris. Paris is mainly flat, just above sea level, although it does have a few large and prominent hills like Mountmartre. The older part of the city can still be identified by its old architecture and has remained majestic and unchanged for several centuries. The modern business part of the city (La Defense) is inspiring with skyscrapers stretching high and the daily hustle and bustle of an international business district. Paris is also known for its efforts in the application of technological research. It has been named “The City of Light” due to the forward thinking demonstrated in education and the application of modern sciences. With Paris’s central location to the rest of the modern world and historical architecture and beauty it makes it a great place for business conventions or Paris holidays alike.
